Elim Springs was founded by Nekerwon (Nick) Slangon, who serves as President/CEO, and his wife, Bethany, who serves as Development Officer. Nick was born at the Baptist Mission in Tappita, Nimba County, Liberia. He grew up in Yekepa. He knows firsthand the affect the years of civil war have had on the country that he loves. Nick was blessed to be able to leave Liberia midway through the war and attend African Bible College in Lilongwe, Malawi. While there he not only obtained a degree in biblical studies, he also met and married his wife, Bethany, an American, who was working as an agronomist in Malawi volunteering for an NGO. Nick and Bethany currently reside in Aurora, Colorado with their four children. Nick works full-time as a residential counselor and Bethany is a nurse.
They broke ground on their home on the outskirts of Monrovia, Liberia in the summer of 2015. They are excited to watch as God leads them through the transition to Liberia.
Currently, Nick and Bethany and their team of advisers are developing plans for the first church, school, and clinic in the community they will call home, Mt. Barclay.
I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.
